One of my friends sent out an email asking if anyone wanted to do a 90 day HIIT workout challenge, and as I read more about it, I thought it looked pretty awesome so I wanted to share it with you guys!
HIIT stands for “High Intensity Interval Training” and it’s kind of a big deal in the fitness world right now. Most of the workouts are fairly short, although they definitely don’t have to be, but the key is the intensity. You want your heart rate to stay up the whole time. HIIT workouts are really good if you are looking for an intense workout that will burn a lot of calories in a short period of time.
The 90 day challenge can be found here. It is from the blog HIIT Mommas. She will post a new HIIT workout everyday and also she also posts a different weekly challenge-for example, this weeks challenge is “no caffeine.” You can read more about the challenge on her FAQ’s page and find examples of each workout on the right sidebar on the “web version” of her blog.
The 90 day challenge actually started 2 days ago (Monday), but that’s okay, you can pick it up now and catch up, or just start on day 3! You can sign up for it through her blog or you can do it on your own. The cool thing about signing up on the blog is that you report your progress to her so it keeps you accountable, but you definitely can just do it on your own too! It would be great to find a friend to do it with so you can report your progress to them :). Everything is done for time, so report how long it takes you to complete each daily workout to your buddy!
I think this is a great way to stay motivated to workout everyday. Since the workouts are fast (usually under 15 minutes), you can just add them to your daily exercise routine, or if you don’t have a routine, this can help you start one!
